چکیده
Abstract Background Radiologic diagnosis of CSF leaks is challenging. We evaluated the diagnostic value non-contrast CT and contrast-enhanced cisternography in identifying presence rhinorrhea site leak as well comparing them to surgical data and/or clinical follow-up. Results Fifty patients (20 males 30 females) were included our study with age ranging from 19 67 years. 76% cases had spontaneous rhinorrhea. Cribriform plate defect was most common leak, accounting for about 50% cases. The highest sensitivity, specificity, PPV NPV observed combined NCCT CECTC values 87%, 100%, 100% 67%, respectively. Conclusion Accurate planning successful dural repair requires accurate localization osseous defects. which already involves pre-cisternography images holds great sensitivity detection exact together confirmation leak.

Evaluation of CSF leaks: high-resolution CT compared with contrast-enhanced CT and radionuclide cisternography.
BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE Radiologic evaluation of CSF leaks is a diagnostic challenge that often involves multiple imaging studies with the associated expense and patient discomfort. We evaluated the use of screening noncontrast high-resolution CT in identifying the presence and site of CSF rhinorrhea and otorrhea and compared it with contrast-enhanced CT cisternography and radionuclide cisternog...
متن کاملWhen to Order a Contrast-Enhanced CT.
Family physicians often must determine the most appropriate diagnostic tests to order for their patients. It is essential to know the types of contrast agents, their risks, contraindications, and common clinical scenarios in which contrast-enhanced computed tomography is appropriate. Many types of contrast agents can be used in computed tomography: oral, intravenous, rectal, and intrathecal. Th...

Secondary osseous involvement in lymphoma is more common compared to primary bone lymphoma. The finding of osseous lesion can be incidentally discovered during the course of the disease. However, osseous metastases are infrequently silent. Detection of osseous metastases is crucial for accurate staging and optimal treatment planning of lymphoma. The aim of imaging is to identify the presence an...
متن کاملContrast - Enhanced CT of Acute Isodense
The case of "isodense" subdural hematoma reported by Boyko et al (1) is interesting for the diffuse enhancement of the subdural hematoma, and for the discussion that accompanies it. It appears inappropriate, however, for Figure 1A and 1B to be published with the legend which states that there was no "identifiable extracerebral fluid collection." With modern CT scanners and good technique, the "...

Objective(s): In this study, we aimed to describe the characteristics of portal vein tumor thrombosis (PVTT), complicating hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) in contrast-enhanced FDG PET/CT scan. Methods: In this retrospective study, 9 HCC patients with FDG-avid PVTT were diagnosed by contrast-enhanced fluorodeoxyglucose positron emission tomography/computed tomography (FDG PET/CT), which is a comb...
